Investors

How We Work

Safari Partners operates as a discreet bridge between investors and safari operators across Africa. Our process is structured, collaborative, and designed to ensure alignment from the very first conversation through to completed investment.
We focus on clarity, trust, and long-term compatibility—rather than transactional deal-making.

For Investors

We begin by developing a detailed understanding of each investor’s objectives and philosophy.
These vary widely and may include:

  • Lifestyle-driven investments and personal use

  • Impact-led capital focused on conservation and “giving back.”

  • Land restoration and community recovery initiatives

  • Long-term, multi-generational capital allocation in emerging markets

  • Pure tourism return strategies

  • Community partnership and empowerment models

  • Blended approaches combining financial and impact outcomes

Each investor brings a different perspective. Our role is to interpret that into a clear investment framework.

The investment “wireframe.”

From this understanding, we build a structured investment “wireframe” that defines the parameters for opportunity selection.
This becomes the foundation for a carefully curated shortlist of safari operators, lodges, or portfolios that align with the investor’s objectives.
Investors remain actively involved throughout this process, refining and shaping the selection as opportunities are reviewed.

Matching & introduction

Once alignment is achieved, we facilitate introductions between investors and selected investees.
At this stage, discussions move from conceptual alignment to practical evaluation—supported by detailed information sharing, management engagement, and direct dialogue between parties.
We only proceed where there is clear mutual interest and strategic fit.

Structuring the transaction

When an investor and investee agree to move forward, Safari Partners supports the structuring phase.
We draft the initial Heads of Terms (HoTs) or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reflecting the agreed commercial principles of the transaction.
These documents form the basis for formal legal agreements.
Following this, independent legal counsel is appointed by the parties to draft the binding legal agreements required to complete the transaction.

A guided, aligned process

Our role is to ensure that capital and opportunity are aligned from the outset—and that both parties enter formal agreements with clarity, structure, and shared intent.
We remain involved throughout the process, supporting communication and coordination where required, while allowing investors and operators to maintain direct professional relationships.
